Our Mission
The people of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Wilmington, are dedicated to continuing the saving mission of Jesus Christ as a community of Christians. Our mission is rooted in the following commitments that we make to ourselves and to our God.
We are committed to building an ever-strengthening Christian Community that embraces all of God’s people and uses their diverse talents by living and carrying out the Gospel message.
We are committed to proclaiming the Gospel with the guidance of the Holy Spirit to children and adults through our liturgical celebrations and catechetical programs.
We are committed to joining together in celebration of Eucharist and other ministries following the Gospel message and the traditions of the Church.
We are committed to designing and implementing programs that serve our parishioners and others by exemplifying Christian values in our service and social responsibility.
It is our mission to form a truly Catholic community that will draw us closer to Jesus Christ, His message and one another.

The parish is for most Catholics the single most important part of the Church. It is where we publicly express our faith in an effort to be with God and each other. As a parish family, each and every member has a very important role to play in building up our community of faith. Our prayers and active support, coupled with our own unique gifts of the Spirit, will enable us to meet the demands of diversity and the varieties of commitment that exist here at IHM.
