Liturgy Information

Our parish Liturgy Committee oversees all aspects of the preparation and execution of the parish liturgies, including those for the celebration of special events. It is responsible for the organization and training of the various ministries involved in the liturgies. These ministries include: Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, Lectors, Sacristans, Altar Servers, Cantors, Choir, Ushers, Greeters, Church Care Team, those who care for the Altar Linens, and those who work on our Art & Environment team. To volunteer for any of these ministries, fill out this Google Form. The committee is guided by the liturgical documents of the Church and approved diocesan guidelines. Membership is representative of all church ministries and interested parishioners.

Immaculate Heart of Mary is now using Ministry Scheduler Pro to help with scheduling Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Altar Servers, and Sacristans. You can login HERE.

• Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion have the privilege of bringing the Body and Blood of Jesus to the faithful members of the assembly in order to provide a timely and reverent distribution of Holy Communion. 
• Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion may take communion to nursing homes or the homebound in our area.
• Lectors proclaim the Word of God within liturgical celebrations.
• Altar Servers assist the presider during liturgical celebrations.
• Sacristans assist, facilitate, and provide support and coordination for other liturgical ministries.
• Ushers welcome parishioners and visitors as they arrive for Mass, as well as serving in varied ways during the celebration of the Mass. 
• Linen Ministry volunteers wash, iron, and fold the linens used during the Masses.
• The Art & Environment team is responsible for chapel and church decorations throughout the liturgical year.
• The Church Care team cleans the doors and door windows, shines the pews, dusts the tables, polishes everything around the altar, replaces holy water in the fonts, picks up any litter and generally make sure the Church is ready for Mass every week.
